ONE Instrument® 1.4 – Discover What’s New

ONE Instrument® 1.4 is almost here, introducing a new generation of creative tools designed to make music production more intuitive, flexible, and immediate. This update represents an important step forward, transforming ONE Instrument from a powerful environment for discovering and layering virtual instruments into a more complete workspace for performing, recording, organizing, and exporting musical ideas.

Performer Scenes and Multitrack Recording

One of the most exciting additions is Performer Scenes, allowing musicians to save and instantly recall their entire creative setup, including instruments, layers, mixing settings, loops, and Hold configurations. Scenes can be organized using customizable color-coded tags, making it easy to switch between different musical ideas or revisit a previous performance.

Recording also takes a significant step forward with independent MIDI tracks for every instrument layer. Whether you’re playing live, using loops, or combining multiple instruments, ONE Instrument records each layer separately within a single session. New synchronized recording options, Repeat Take, and improved recording controls provide greater flexibility while keeping the creative workflow simple and immediate.

Base Camp – A New Home for Your Music

Version 1.4 introduces Base Camp, a redesigned environment for managing your musical recordings. Sessions are displayed as visual cards showing their individual MIDI tracks, with recent creations immediately accessible and older recordings automatically organized by date. Musicians can quickly revisit previous performances, recall the associated Performer Scene, and continue developing their musical ideas.

The new Export Stems feature adds another important possibility, allowing individual instrument tracks to be exported as separate audio files for further production, mixing, or integration with other music software. Audio rendering also introduces customizable fade-ins and fade-outs.

More Creative Possibilities

The Performer now supports loops of up to 32 bars, providing greater freedom for developing musical arrangements. But creative possibilities don’t end with loop length: thanks to live session recording, you can capture an entire musical performance without being limited to 32 bars. For example, you can record a piano performance from the beginning to the end of a song while other instruments accompany you through their respective loops. ONE Instrument combines the convenience of repeating patterns with the freedom of a complete musical performance.

The Hold function also becomes more flexible, with new options for pausing, resuming, and expanding sustained notes during a performance. An advanced token-based search system makes finding sounds more precise, while Hold is now available directly from the virtual keyboard in Browse.

ONE Instrument 1.4 also introduces VST3 plug-in support in beta, expanding compatibility with third-party virtual instruments and opening new possibilities for sound exploration.

One Interface. Endless Creative Possibilities.

With version 1.4, ONE Instrument continues pursuing its original vision: bringing virtual instruments together in a single, intuitive creative environment. From discovering and layering sounds to performing, recording, and exporting music, every step becomes part of a connected workflow designed to keep musicians focused on what matters most: making music.
