ONE Instrument® 1.3.3 – A Faster Performer Workflow, New MIDI Routing and Improved Stability
ONE Instrument® 1.3.3 is now available, introducing a new way to browse and manage sounds directly inside Performer, expanded MIDI routing for individual layers, live MIDI activity monitoring, improved tempo synchronization and a series of important fixes across the audio engine, recording workflow and Cloud library management.
The update continues to make Performer a more immediate creative environment, reducing the distance between finding a sound, adding it to a performance and shaping a complete setup without interrupting the musical flow.
A new browse mode inside Performer
One of the most important additions in 1.3.3 is the new browse mode in Performer. Sound cards can now be dragged directly onto a layer to add or replace its current sound, making experimentation considerably faster when building a performance or searching for the right combination of instruments.
Instead of moving between different areas of the interface, sounds can become part of the current setup through a simple drag-and-drop interaction. A ctrl-click on a card also opens its context menu, providing quick access to additional actions when needed.
It is a small interaction with a significant impact on the workflow: changing an instrument becomes part of playing and experimenting rather than a separate operation.
Independent MIDI routing for every layer
Each Performer layer can now be assigned its own MIDI input and MIDI output. This opens ONE Instrument to more flexible setups involving multiple controllers, external MIDI devices and different MIDI destinations.
A keyboard can control one layer while another receives MIDI from a different controller, or individual layers can be routed toward separate external destinations. The routing is managed at layer level, allowing a Performer setup to grow from a simple virtual instrument configuration into a much more flexible MIDI environment.
A new MIDI activity indicator has also been added, providing immediate visual feedback whenever ONE Instrument receives MIDI data. This makes it easier to verify connections and understand what is happening inside more complex configurations without leaving the main workflow.
Better synchronization while working live
Adding a layer to a live channel now automatically synchronizes its tempo. Instruments and plugins that depend on host tempo can therefore become part of the current performance without requiring an additional synchronization step.
Tempo-related behavior has also been made more reliable: version 1.3.3 fixes an issue that could cause plugin tempo synchronization to reset after restarting the audio engine.
Time signature is now accessible directly from the main display as well, putting another important performance and recording control exactly where it is needed rather than hiding it deeper in the interface.
Clearer layers and a more immediate interface
Layer names have been improved to make complex setups easier to understand at a glance. As ONE Instrument increasingly allows multiple sounds, plugins, MIDI routes and sequences to coexist inside the same performance, clarity becomes just as important as adding new functions.
The objective is to keep the interface readable even as the possibilities underneath it become more sophisticated.
Cloud libraries are now scanned completely
An important fix also arrives for users with multiple Cloud libraries. The library scanner could previously check only the first folder it encountered, potentially leaving additional installed libraries unavailable.
ONE Instrument 1.3.3 now correctly scans the additional library locations, ensuring that the complete collection can be recognized and made available to the Browser.
Recording and audio engine stability
Several fixes in this release focus on situations that happen while ONE Instrument is actively being played. Recording could previously modify a sequence that was still playing live; this behavior has now been corrected, keeping the active performance and the recording process properly separated.
The audio engine has also received a series of stability improvements designed to reduce glitches and crashes during some of the most demanding real-time operations, including layer swaps, plugin hot-swaps and changes to the live audio graph.
Additional fixes resolve an issue that could leave the metronome settings panel stuck open, a bug affecting the cards grid context menu and a crash that could occur when a video opened in a popover was switched to fullscreen.
Building the performance without breaking the flow
ONE Instrument 1.3.3 brings together several improvements around the same idea: keeping the creative process moving.
Sounds can be dragged directly into Performer, layers can communicate independently with MIDI devices, incoming MIDI is immediately visible, tempo follows the live environment automatically and time signature is available from the main display. At the same time, the underlying audio engine and library management have become more reliable during the operations that happen continuously while creating.
The result is a Performer that feels increasingly less like a place where sounds are simply loaded and more like an environment where instruments, MIDI, sequences and live performance can interact as part of the same creative process.
